Marcelo Pisani
International Organization for Migration (IOM) Regional Director for South America
He has 27 years of experience in project management, consultancy for the development of public policies, and engagement with private companies and the civil society in areas related to the assistance of vulnerable migrants in contexts of emergency, fight against poverty, durable solutions, as well as early recovery. He also has extensive experience in managing projects related to internal displacement, migration and development, transition and peace-building, reintegration, and stabilisation and resilience.
He recently served as Regional Director of IOM for North America, Central America and the Caribbean. He was also Deputy Chief of Mission and subsequently Chief of Mission of IOM in Colombia. In addition, he served as Chief of Mission of IOM in Zimbabwe for several years. He also worked at the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Mr. Pisani graduated in architecture at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and studied project management, sustainable human development, municipal development and assistance standards in humanitarian crisis situations and damage assessment.
