OBJECTIVE 23 - INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Strengthen international cooperation and global partnerships for safe, orderly and regular migration
Full international cooperation and partnerships are needed to tackle global challenges related to migration and sustainable development.
The Global Compact is a milestone in the history of the global dialogue and international cooperation on migration. It fosters international cooperation among all relevant actors on migration, acknowledging that no State can address migration alone.
Increased international cooperation, for example on conflict prevention or accelerating sustainable development actions to reduce instability and inequality, can combat adverse drivers of migration and ensure all people can migrate safely.
International and regional cooperation are also needed to address the environmental drivers of migration, as climate challenges are not restricted to any one territory.
States and organizations must support each other as we collectively implement the Global Compact, including through the provision of financial and technical assistance, through a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.
